After spending 11 years as a Registered Nurse, I was ready to step into a new career as a Medical Sales professional. Before joining EYS, I struggled to get interviews and even if I did land one, I didn’t make it past the 1st round. EYS gave me the coaching and tools I needed to stand out as a candidate and show the value I would bring to a medical sales role.

The EYS Program was instrumental in helping navigate the process of breaking into medical device sales. I came into the program without a medical background, just determination, grit, an ambitious mindset and a desire to help people in a massive way. That is what drove me to a career in medical sales and there was nothing but support from the EYS team. They ensured me despite not coming from a medical background, I could be successful in this career and find the right role.

Before this, I was leading regional sales in Mexico for one of the biggest medtech companies in the world. I remember reading all these recommendations like it was yesterday. I couldn’t believe all the stories. Couldn’t believe Samuel’s program worked- until I finally made the jump and committed to it.

Now I’ve gotten a medical sales role! I was a clinician and small practice owner for 15 years looking to do something different for my career. I had tried applying to different places but would never hear back. Tried listening to the podcasts and reading posts about the field. Most recently, I helped launch a startup recovery center, serving as the lead case manager and group facilitator, while also taking on the many responsibilities that come with building something from the ground up.

Life before the MSCB program felt stagnant. I knew I didn’t want to pursue a master’s degree to become a therapist, and because of that, I felt like I had hit a ceiling in terms of growth in the mental health field. In early 2024, some friends introduced me to the medical device industry, thinking it might be a good fit. At the time, I was exhausted from juggling bartending and case management just to make ends meet, and I felt completely stuck in the career path I had chosen.

Curious and hopeful, I started diving deep–listening to all of Samuel’s podcasts and researching different divisions within the medical device space. That’s when I discovered a strong interest in neuromodulation, chronic pain management, and TMS. I went through a few interview processes and made it to the final stages each time, but I wasn’t landing any offers.

It wasn’t until I attended a networking event and met April from EYS that things shifted. She introduced me to the MSCB program. Knowing the power of mentorship and community, I didn’t hesitate to join.

I am thrilled to announce I just stepped into a new role as an Associate Clinical Representative with . I want to thank the Medical Sales Career Builder (MSCB), this wouldn’t have been possible without them!

Previously I worked as an occupational therapist in an acute care setting. And before that, as a freelance photographer. I’ve made big career jumps before, but I wanted to be more intentional and prepared this time. In school, I remember learning about emerging technologies and the valuable role that OT’s can play in non-clinical spaces, given our unique training. However, I had no idea how to grow beyond the clinic.

My background has been in nursing, everything from bedside care to travel nursing and IV clinic work; stepping into medical sales felt like uncharted territory. Before this, I barely knew where to start. I had friends in pharma sales but wasn’t familiar with the broader field of medical device sales or how many opportunities it offered. I wanted a way to continue helping patients in a new capacity, but I didn’t know how to approach the interview process, understand different companies, or even determine the right path within medical sales for my skills and goals.

EYS was like a roadmap, breaking down each step in a way that felt almost like solving a puzzle. They helped me recognize how my clinical background as an RN is full of transferable skills that are valuable in medical sales. I am a former teacher with some sales experience, and switching to medical sales felt like an impossible leap. For about two years, I applied for medical sales jobs, but I didn’t even get a single interview. I tried applying directly on LinkedIn, but that didn’t work. I had heard about EYS, and did some research on it. The biggest criticism I heard was that if you know how to start a conversation with strangers, you shouldn’t have to pay for a program to get you a job. I tried networking on my own, but it didn’t get me anywhere.

After exhausting all other options, I decided to give EYS a try. From the moment I joined, I was enrolled in workshops and connected with a supportive team of medical sales reps who genuinely wanted me to succeed. I learned how to network effectively, who to reach out to, and how to make the right connections. I’m Now a Medical Territory Manager! I was a Regional Sales Representative for Long-Term Care pharmacy services. I had dreamed of getting into the med sales industry when I went into my career as a nurse, but the pharmacy sales job came to me, and I had just settled. Fortunately, I had a job shakeup that allowed me to determine that now was the time to pursue my original vision. I absolutely would not have this position without Samuel and the Evolve Your Success community. A lot of people my age would just stop trying, but EYS believed in me. EYS allowed me to break into the industry in 90-Days after I had been trying on my own for over two years! I had lots of recruiter screenings, and a few interviews with hiring managers, but I was never offered a position. Before EYS, I didn’t realize I was doing the bare minimum to get hired. I was applying everywhere, hoping to get noticed and waiting. It just wasn’t working! I didn’t know that that was not enough to compete in an industry this sought after, and against people who knew what I didn’t know about the process. I officially started as an Associate Sales Representative for Stryker’s Interventional Spine Division on July 15th, 2024, and I couldn’t be more excited.

I joined EYS in August 2023 as I began my final semester of college. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to be in Medical Device Sales. Graduating from Gonzaga University in December 2023 with a focus on Human Physiology, Biology, and Biochemistry, I felt prepared for this career.

I want to thank EYS for the foundation they provided me. Samuel reached out to me on LinkedIn after noticing my interest in this field, and the rest is history.

Before enrolling in EYS, I was planning to pursue Medical School. I treated the program as an investment in my growth, and it paid off. Not only did I grow, but I also created meaningful and lifelong relationships.

I’ve been in public education for the past six years. As much as I’ve loved being a teacher, I knew I wanted to go further professionally. I’ve seen the struggle my colleagues have gone through trying to transition out of teaching and knew I wanted to be strategic in switching industries.

I stumbled upon Samuel’s Medical Sales Podcast by what felt like fate, binged it for about three weeks, then decided to take plunge and signed up for the Medical Sales Career Builder Course. I just started a new role as a senior clinical specialist at Medtronic in the Deep Brain Stimulation division!

My previous role was a neuro occupational therapist, working on a specialized brain injury unit. I truly loved my work as an OT, however I didn’t see much growth opportunity in this career. I love to work hard and, unfortunately, there are limited opportunities to achieve new goals and experience new challenges in this type of role, along with limited incentives to work hard.

Before joining the Medical Sales Career Builder program, I was applying for jobs that, in hindsight, were a poor fit based on my background and interests. I just got a job as a Territory Representative. I used to be a practicing small animal veterinarian, but I wanted to make a career pivot into medical device sales.
